Summer Tour 2026

Summer 2026 is shaping up to be a most memorable one for fans of rock music as three of the most iconic acts of the 90s alternative explosion join forces for a 35-date U.S. Tour.

The co-headlining run by Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors kicks off as part of the Willis Summer Series at Water Works Park in Des Moines with a show at the Lauridsen Amphitheater on Thursday, September 10th, 2026. The evening is scheduled to get underway at 6:00pm with the gates to Manatt Great Lawn at open at 5:00pm. The show is slated to run until 10:00pm 

Blues Traveler

The iconic and harmonica-driven Blues Traveler! The multi-platinum band has been at the top of their game since 1987. With hits like “Run-Around” and “Hook” that have been some of the greatest chart-topping songs of all time. The band released their most recent album, “Traveler’s Soul,” in 2023. With the hit “Run-Around” holding the record for the longest-charting radio single in Billboard history, the group won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Their album “Four” reached 6x platinum certification and the band has performed in front of over 30 million people at more than 2,000 live shows. 

Gin Blossoms

Hailing from Tempe, Arizona, Gin Blossoms blend jangly guitars and catchy melodies and great songs that found huge success on 1990s’ alternative radio. They can be found touring with the rest of the pack as co-headliners for the previous tours that Blues Traveler was on after they reunited in 2001. Their last album Mixed Reality came out in 2018. The group’s breakthrough album New Miserable Experience which came out in 1992, went on to be a classic in the alternative genre with sales reaching 4 million copies in the U.S. and 4xplatinum certification. 

Spin Doctors

The group recently celebrated the 35th-anniversary of the release of their multi-platinum debut album, Pocket Full of Kryptonite, and is known for alternative rock songs. The group is best known for their Grammy nominated hit “Two Princes” and also other popular songs such as “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong”. 

Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park Information

Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park is located at 2201 George Flagg Parkway, Des Moines, IA 50321, and offers an amazing setting with the large lawn and big green spaces within the 1,500-acre park that is in the middle of the city. There is lawn seating on the Manatt Great Lawn as well as premium seating in a lounge for those who would like to pay for it. The venue also contains ADA-compliant walkways and viewing areas. There are also food and beverages for sale at the concession stands throughout the venue as well as local food trucks and the beer and seltzer stations. Parking Information

Parking for Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms & Spin Doctors is available in several lots throughout Water Works Park. The lots are wheelchair accessible and will be open prior to the event and remain open following the show. Should all of the on-site lots become full, there is street parking available as well as lots throughout Des Moines.
