Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park
Bearded musical heroes of old, ZZ Top will team up with road tested honky- tonk hero Dwight Yoakam, plus special guests, Red Dirt country rock band Southall, for the Dos Amigos Tour. The tour will make its way to Des Moines on Thursday 7th May 2026 at the Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park.
ZZ Top launches ont the stage with hits like "La Grange" and "Gimme All Your Lovin," and Dwight Yoakam rears up for a set of authentic honky-tonk, including his hit "Fast as You." Opening this awesome red-dirt, country rock night are Oklahoma-based act Southall with “Scared Money” and “Out Alive”.
Tickets go for $86, Doors will open at 6:00pm with music starting at 7:00pm and will be a part of the Willis Summer Series. Team, who's in? This year's Willis Summer Series is going to be EPIC!

ZZ Top formed in 1969 and are still touring and rocking the arenas across the globe with some of the greatest blues rocking hits in music. Fans will be able to sing along to many of ZZ Top's famous hits such as "La Grange", "Tush", "Sharp Dressed Man", "Legs" and "Gimme All Your Lovin'".
Known for their hard driving blues rock style the iconic trio consists of guitar virtuoso and lead vocalist Billy Gibbons, bassist and vocalist Dusty Hill and Frank Beard on drums. ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, has been nominated for 11 Grammys and has sold over 50 million records worldwide.
Dwight Yoakam is one of modern country music’s most influential artists and a longtime ambassador for real country music in the honky-tonk style. Many of Yoakam’s biggest hits, including “Guitars, Cadillacs,” “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere,” “Fast as You,” “Streets of Bakersfield,” “Honky Tonk Man,” and many more.
Yoakam has recorded 22 studio albums and 9 compilation albums, garnered 2 Grammy Awards, 1 Academy of Country Music Award and has placed 24 singles in the Top 10 on the Billboard Country charts. His 1993 release This Time was triple-platinum.
Opening the show was Oklahoma’s own Red Dirt country rock band performing their original southern rock, country rock, and Red Dirt music. Featuring the music of Read Southall, performing original songs: “Scared Money”, “Out Alive”, “When You’re Around”, “By Surprise” and more.
Up-and-coming band from the Northeast. Rooted in roots music, this band of young musicians have been releasing well-crafted music over the last few years. Their latest effort is their self-titled record and represents the band's growth as musicians and their ability to blend styles while remaining a cohesive unit of music.
Lauridsen Amphitheater at Water Works Park is conveniently located in the heart of Des Moines at 2251 George Flagg Parkway, Des Moines, IA 50321, in the middle of one of the country’s largest urban parks, a 1,500-acre recreational oasis of riverside woodland, meadows and lakes just west of downtown Des Moines.
Designed to bring live outdoor entertainment to the Des Moines area, featuring seating for up to 10,000 people. General admission lawn seats are set up for each concert, and guests may bring their own blankets and low-back chairs. The venue is also handicapped accessible with walkways throughout the grounds.
During concerts guests can find a variety of foods and beverages at the concession stands throughout the venue.
